This pretty semi-detached period cottage is believed to date from 1890 and has been beautifully restored by the current owners and now offers superb light and airy accommodation which flows well. The Kitchen/breakfast room is an impressive room with a vaulted ceiling and a recently fitted bespoke kitchen with central island, breakfast bar and a mixture of Minerva worktops that give a great finish. In addition there is a Hotpoint electric oven, Stoves induction hob with fan over, fitted dishwasher and wine chiller. Beyond is a downstairs bedroom and a recently extended study or home office. This is a fantastic space with bifold doors opening out into the garden. A sitting room with woodburning stove and dining room complete the ground floor accommodation. On the first floor there are three further bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room and a family bathroom.
The garden has been extensively landscaped and lies on the southern and eastern side of the house. It is bordered by close boarded fencing and hedging which gives added privacy. Two parking spaces at the front lead to a picket gate and paved path to the front porch, flanked by a rockery area and raised vegetable beds. To the south is a flagstone terrace, extensive decking and further raised seating area. Within the garden is a useful shed, log store and two further parking spaces with gates onto the lane.
Situation The property is situated on the eastern fringe of this ever-popular Chalke Valley village set amidst beautiful open countryside within the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is highly regarded for its excellent facilities including a community run shop, pub, outstanding primary school, pre-school, doctor’s surgery and sports ground. There is easy access from the house to lovely walks along footpaths, bridleways and ancient ox-droves.
